Jordon  A. Anderson
Company G, 26th Enrolled Missouri Militia
     Jordon A. Anderson was born on September 14, 1832 in Tennessee.  He mined for gold in California in the late 1840’s.  Upon his return via South America by sea, his ship wrecked in the gulf of Mexico and he hitchhiked back to Missouri.  He moved to Polk County, Missouri sometime before 1855, where he lived the rest of his life.
     Jordon married Mary Elisabeth Watkins in 1855.  Mary was born 22 May 1834 in Fair Play, Missouri.  The couple had 15 children.
     During the Civil War, Jordon enlisted in Company G, 26th Regiment Enrolled Missouri Militia on 30 July 1862 in Bolivar, Missouri as a private.  He also served in Company G, 15th Enrolled Missouri Militia.  He survived the war and mustered out on 25 September 1864.
     Jordon died 3 August 1909 in Polk County, Missouri.
